Road Traffic Accidents
Accidents are all too common on today's busy roads, but at Marrons, our fast, professional service can help by making your compensation claim as painless as possible. If you have been involved in a motor accident, be sure to get in touch quickly and we will investigate all of the facts while the accident is still clear in your memory.
Our experienced solicitors can then give you the best advice and guide you through the claims process to ensure that you receive the compensation you are entitled to.
There are many instances when you can make a claim and here are a few examples:
- you are the driver of a vehicle involved in an accident where another driver is to blame for the accident. A very common type of accident happens when another motorist drives into the back of your vehicle, often called a "rear end shunt"
- you are a passenger in a vehicle involved in an accident where the driver of the car you are travelling in, or the driver of another vehicle is at fault. Don't worry if the driver is a friend or family member; making a claim will not affect their no claims bonus as this will already have been lost as a result of the damage caused to the other vehicle involved.
- you are a pedestrian run down by a vehicle when crossing a road. If this happened at a pedestrian crossing you will probably have a very strong case.
- you are a cyclist who has been knocked off your bike by a motorist who has failed to see you.
Things to remember if you are injured in a road traffic accident:
- make sure you have all the relevant information on the other driver - name, address, telephone number and name of their insurance company
- if there are witnesses to the accident get their names, address and telephone numbers
- contact the local police station to report the incident. If the police attend the scene you may have to give a statement. Read it very carefully before you sign it and insist on any amendments you think necessary (if you are worried and want advice before your police interview then contact Marrons immediately)
