Industrial Accidents
If you have suffered an injury at work, you are entitled to compensation - providing that you can show that someone else is at fault.
This may be your employer, a fellow employee, or another company working at your place of work.
Many work places are covered by strict rules and complicated regulations, so if your injury was caused because your employer broke these regulations, you will also have a claim.
By law, your employer is required to hold valid insurance to cover such claims, so you need not be concerned about making one.
It is always worth contacting one of our experienced solicitors for a confidential discussion about your accident, as we can often tell you if you have a case straight away.
What should you do if you have an accident at work?
- ensure the accident is reported and recorded accurately in the Accident Report Book - if you are asked to sign it make sure it is an accurate account of what happened
- your employers cannot force you to give a detailed statement so do not be pressured into doing so
- if there are witnesses get their names and write them down
- if your injury is serious, your employers must report the accident to the Health & Safety Executive - it is a good idea to make sure they have!
- contact Marrons as soon after your accident as possible, so that we can investigate whilst the accident is still fresh in your mind.
